Today we received a much welcome visit when the Vice President of the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society met with the President of MV Balmoral Fund.
In the Engine Room a coupling was fitted and installed on the Port Generator, where we also saw the arrival of our new sewage water pump! On deck, sanding and varnishing was taking place, and the finishing touches were applied to the Starboard section of the Pursers Office.

It’s the first week in August so the Main Engines were run on test successfully, along with all emergency and auxiliary equipment.
In our efforts to find the source of the leaks in the dining room, part of the deck-head was taken down. We now have a clearer idea of the location of the leaks and two volunteers have made a start on replacing part of the decking in way of the dining room vent.
By the pursers office, chipping and painting of the starboard side is being actively worked on by a further two volunteers. Meanwhile, on the Bridge deck, our President has continued with his sterling work on the Bridge Dodgers.
