Historic Balmoral sent to Dry Docks

Today, the Balmoral will be leaving her moorings from Mardyke Quay at 11:30 where she will be sailing into Albion Dry Dock. She will remain in dry dock for an initial period of four days, with the option to extend should further investigation be needed.

Manoeuvring into Albion Dry Dock under her own power, the objective is to discover the amount of work that would be required to bring the ship back into active passenger service.

During which time she will undergo an in-depth assessment, which will involve a full ultrasonic survey of the hull and the development of a complete 3D scan of the underwater section for the Charities records.
