Balmoral arriving at Ilfracombe after a run down the Bristol Channel from Penarth and Clevedon. For the past 120 years this has been a favourite day out for anyone living in the towns and cities bordering the Severn Estuary. Passengers can now go ashore to explore this lovely Devon town, perhaps have an ice cream on the pier, watch the boats in the harbour or climb Lantern Hill to see the ancient church and light tower, or perhaps stay on board for an afternoon cruise along the coast. It is low tide and the run home will be a perfect mix of evening sun, calm seas and a fast journey. Time then for fish and chips in the restaurant, a Balmoral Ale in the lounge and stroll on deck to watch the sun set over the Holm islands. A perfect end to a perfect day at sea.
